The movie IS a joy to watch. Lata visits different parts of Oklahoma and interviews many of our incredible music personalities - as well as takes part in
a few impromptu jams with a few musicians along the way. As you might expect it's filled with music from beginning to end as Lata takes us along on his musical journey of rich Oklahoma music history as well as the faces and sounds of Future Oklahoma music.
There are revelations along the way and things you may not have known including some incredible performances and more than a handful of laughs & grins as we DO have some very entertaining musicians in our midst. And  the sweetest, kindest, most down-to-Earth brotherhood of musicians/people you'll ever meet - I must say,... right here - in Tulsa Oklahoma.

This song - just barely a tad too long for my music pages - features Jimmy Barnes
on lead vocals - reprising the first single lifted from the 1987 album "Freight
Train Heart" by the Australian rock singer. It was his first Australian No. 1 hit single.

> Joe Bonamassa Bonamassa was born and raised in New Hartford, New York.
His parents owned and ran a guitar shop. He is a fourth-generation musician;
with a great-grandfather and grandfather who both played trumpet, and a
father who plays guitar, Bonamassa credits his parents with fostering an
appreciation of music in his life as early as he can remember. When he was a
young child, he would listen to his parents' large record collection. He recalls
at age 7, sitting with his parents on Saturdays and listening to Guitar Slim,
Bonnie Raitt, Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, Eric Clapton, and Jethro Tull.
Thus, he sees his music as an amalgam of all the various rock and blues he heard
as a child.
> He received his first guitar from his father at the age of 4, and by age 7 he
was playing Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix tunes note for note. At the age
of 11, during a short period of being mentored by Danny Gatton, he learned such
styles as country and jazz as well as polka. During this time with Gatton, Bonamassa
 sat in with Gatton's band whenever they played in New York. He first opened for

"Where the Light Is": John Mayer Live in Los Angeles, commonly referred to as Where the Light Is, is a live album and concert film by American blues-rock musician John Mayer. Released on July 1, 2008, the album documents Mayer's performance at the L.A. Live Nokia Theatre, Los Angeles, California on December 8, 2007, during the promotional tour for his 2006 third studio album "Continuum".
The concert in question, which was for the Annual John Mayer Holiday Charity Revue, featured three separate performances: the first an acoustic set by Mayer alone, the second with the John Mayer Trio, and the third with Mayer's regular touring band. The title of the album is taken from a line in the song "Gravity", which was released as the second single from Continuum on January 31, 2007.

Where the Light Is was released in a number of formats, including, for the audio album, Compact Disc, LP album and digital download; and, for the video album, DVD and Blu-ray Disc; as well as a 2CD+DVD set.
His famous live acoustic cover of "Free Fallin'," originally by Tom Petty, from this album was released as a single and met with wide critical acclaim.
The songs "No Such Thing" and "Bigger Than My Body" were played on the evening but did not make it to the DVD release for unknown reasons.

"Jessica" is a rock instrumental written by Dickey Betts, guitarist of The Allman Brothers Band, and Les Dudek, who played with them soon after Duane Allman's death. The song is named for Jessica Betts, the daughter of Dickey Betts and Sandy Bluesky.
Another performance that I love - but too long for my 'Music' pg. - c.f.                                                                                                                                 The tune is in the key of A Major. The signature melody line, as with all of Dickey Betts' instrumental compositions, is played harmonically among various instruments, in this case, Betts taking the melody on guitar, Chuck Leavell playing the top harmony line on the Fender Rhodes electric piano, and Gregg Allman playing the bottom harmony line on the Hammond Organ. Leavell also plays grand piano on this tune, playing a solo around the 2:30 mark. Betts plays his guitar solo in the key of D Major at 3:45. The acoustic guitar is played by Les Dudek. Guitar World Magazine listed "Jessica"         No. 47 in their '100 Greatest Guitar Solos' - as ranked by readers of Guitar World Magazine. Betts wrote the song’s melodic theme while emulating one
of his heroes—the gypsy guitarist Django Rheinhardt, who had the use of only two fingers on his left hand. “I came up with that melody using just two fingers as a sort of tribute to Django,” says Betts.

Although still in his early twenties, Okemah, Oklahoma native John Fullbright sings like he’s been around for years. Firmly rooted in a variety of American musical styles, including folk, country, blues, bluegrass, and jazz, John is beginning a musical journey that is sure to delight listeners from coast to coast. Already he has the ringing endorsements of many great musicians, including fellow Oklahomans Jimmy Webb, Kevin Welch, and Tom Skinner.

 This is an excerpt of the movie "Red Dirt on 66 - Director's Cut". Legendary JJ Cale Keyboardist Rocky Frisco was baptized in this old Tulsa, Oklahoma Church in the early 1940's. In 2011, 70 years later - he returned to the same building, which was converted into a legendary recording studio by owner at the time; Leon Russell back in the '60's & '70's "The Church" on 3rd St. The "Red Dirt on 66" crew took him there to capture Rocky performing one song on a grand piano. The song is a Rocky Frisco original, "The Blues For You". This is a long overdue tribute. Google "Rocky Frisco" for more information about this extraordinary Oklahoma musical legend. Rocky is still active and performing live all over Tulsa on any given night !
