~ Here's some new music (the web page won't
let let me upload it because it exceeds 10mb's in length) from
my awesome & creative singer, songwriter, & guitarist friend
in Luxembourg; Lata Gouveia - Empty Station - The first single from
his new, 2019 album. Click Pic
Lata & I met during his epic 3 years of filmmaking with Rocky Frisco resulting in the award winning 2009 documentery "Red Dirt: Songs from the Dust" - Lata was fortunate to be visiting Tulsa at a time when Tom Skinner and friends were hosting a jam in the back music room of a downtown eatery where Lata got to jam & trade songs with Tom Skinner, Steve Pryor & Dustin Pittsley, Jesse Aycock & Randy Crouch to name a few. I was fortunate to be invited to a few of those jam sessions and the orig. Circle Cinema screening, (As Curt’s List @ CurtsList.Com was gaining popularity and I knew & was relied upon by practically all the musicians in the film, and I was friends with Rocky Frisco, Steve Pryor, & Dustin Pittsley) with a theater full of just about every Red Dirt musician & music peep in Tulsa including Mayor Dewey, and actually got to jam with some of these guys at the incredible after party. It was a night I’ll never forget. You can check out Lata Gouveia on his Website & Wikipedia. And listen to & Please Purchase his music at his Website, iTunes, Spotify, & Amazon.

Janelle performed this song at the 2019 Grammy's in Janet Jackson style & I have to say that I really liked it. She, & matching outfitted female dancers, danced & sang on a multi-layered stage & it was amazing !! Like Janet Jackson stuffed inside Prince...& One of only Two standouts in 2019 - so far... (022119)
Janelle Monae is an American singer, songwriter, actress, & producer.
This is the third official studio album from this Covergirl spokeswoman & Academy Award winning actress
in only her first two movies. (Hidden Figures & Moonlight)
I saw her perform this song - live on Kelly & Ryan - It & She - definitely caught my attention.
Funky little song. And Alice is quite watchable. I especially like the different sounds in this
song & how they interact. (022119)
Alice Merton is a German-Canadian-English singer/songwriter. Merton achieved mainstream
success with her debut single, "No Roots", a number-one single in France & the U.S.
"No Roots" was released in 2017 as the first single off what would become her 2019 debut
album "Mint" and has gone on to garner Gold & Platinum status.
Thomas debuted this new song & "Look What God Gave Her" as SNL's musical guest w/ 2x Host: Commedian John Mulaney - 030219
Both songs were awesome, but THIS one really rocks
AND it has a horn section !! (030819)
(The actual Album Art was pending when I added the song to this page.)
I downloaded a computer audio recorder and was looking for a song to record on Spotify & decided
to browse the New Releases. I spotted this song Immediately; released only 6 days ago.
Awesome guitar work !!
The boys are back in true form!! - cf / 031319
Not officially a 2019 release but this song was released around December so I'm calling it close enough.
These two Lovell Sisters were part of a bluegrass trio known as The Lovelle Sisters until one sister;
Jessica-whom sang lead & played fiddle, left the trio which led to sisters Megan/harmony vox, dobro
& lap steel, and Rebecca/lead & harmony vox, mandolin, electric/acoustic guitar, banjo, & piano; to form the rockin' roots & blues duo Larkin Poe. This is album #4 for this trend setting duo, whom within just
a few years went from virtual unknowns to opening for Elvis Costello, Bright Eyes, Sugarland, & Keith Urban.
They were in Tulsa performing free in Sept of 2018 when The Gathering Place opened with an entire month of concerts & other activities. The Gathering Place is the biggest privately donated park in the entire country and named 2018's Best New Attraction in the entire U.S. by a USA Today readers poll.
Yeah, this is from 2017 - but I really like it & I listen to my music pages all the time so I dropped it here.
This is the kind of rockin' country I love to play guitar with. You can chord strum or power chord it all the
way through &/or add improv riffs whenever you feel like it. (My style of guitar playing utilizing all three
of those with intermittent picking thrown in as well.) - cf
This is from a 2018 Album that I didn't know existed until I reviewed it for the Blues Society of Tulsa within
the March/April 2019 Published Issue of Blues News. This was my favorite track on Dee Miller Band's Leopard Print Dress Debut Album
What a spicy, HOT, little chili pepper. Cuban singer/songwriter/musician/actress - born March 3, 1997
Karla Camila Cabello Estrabao - rose to prominence as a member of the girl group Fifth Harmony, formed on The X Factor USA in 2012, signing a joint record deal with Syco Music and Epic Records.
While a part of Fifth Harmony, Cabello began to establish herself as a solo artist with the release
of the collaborations "I Know What You Did Last Summer" with Shawn Mendes, and "Bad Things"
with Machine Gun Kelly, the latter reaching number four on the Billboard Hot 100. She has acted
in several movies and quite a lot of television.
Here's her amazing & brilliant performance/debut of "Cry For Me" - Musical Guest, SNL - Episode 3
Season 45

This little country hottie can sure write a good country song. There's a couple more of note on the album: Holy Water & How Dare You Love. (Released Nov 1. 2019) - cmf 110819
It's so refreshing and quite awesome hearing a real song, telling a story, containing so many
words - as country songs often do - in this world of musical crap, where you hear a song, a song that may have even been deemed an award winning song, and the entire thing is basically 2 sentences repeated over & over again to a catchy melody. Sometimes it's even worse and only one or two words. Sad.
The 2020 Grammy Awards were big for Billie Eilish.
The 18-year-old pop star walked away with
five awards but four of the night’s biggest awards, including best new artist, record of the year,
album of the year, and song of the year. In winning those four major awards, she also replaced
Taylor Swift as the youngest-ever solo winner for album of the year and became the first woman
and second person ever to win record of the year, album of the year, song of the year, and best
new artist in the same year.
A lot of people can't understand how this can possibly happen yet her story will be one of Grammy's
most legendary & endearing; having recorded an internet hit at 16, written by her brother Finneas,
whom is her music partner on writing, keys & other instruments as well as her confidant on her live
performances. Ocean Eyes was subsequently released by Interscope Records. Her debut EP Don't
Smile at Me (2017), reached the top 15 in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia.
Eilish's debut studio album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? (2019), was entirely recorded in her bedroom by her & Finneas. It debuted atop the Billboard 200 and became the best-performing album of 2019 in the US.[2] It also reached number one in the UK. The album contains six Billboard Hot 100 top 40 singles: "When the Party's Over", "Bury a Friend", "Wish You Were Gay", "Xanny", "Everything I Wanted", and "Bad Guy", the last of which became her first number one single in the US.
Her accolades include five Grammy Awards, two American Music Awards, two Guinness
World Records, and three MTV Video Music Awards. And that's all based on her first full length album at age 18...recorded in her bedroom! And - It's what every kid dreams of. It's also so terribly sad that because of the violent & divisive climate our president has created in this country in conjuction with social media - Billie was scared to death after winning the second award for fear that the fans of her competitors would surely attack her.
